Low Voltage Squirrel Cage Motors
Home > Products > Low Voltage Squirrel Cage Motors

Low voltage squirrel cage motors are electric motors that operate at low voltages and use a squirrel cage rotor. These types of motors are commonly used in a variety of industrial applications, such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, and fans.

The squirrel cage rotor consists of a series of conductive bars arranged in a cylinder around the motor shaft. The bars are shorted together at both ends by metal end rings, which form a closed loop. When voltage is applied to the stator windings, an electromagnetic field is created that rotates around the inside of the motor. This field induces a current in the squirrel cage rotor, which in turn creates a magnetic field that interacts with the stator field to produce torque and rotation.

Low voltage squirrel cage motors are typically designed to operate at voltages ranging from 208V to 480V, depending on the specific application. They are known for their efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance requirements, making them a popular choice for many industrial applications.
